Why not Harbor Springs?

Hello friends!

It has been a week of meetings, particularly about the zoning code. Well attended by both folks from Harbor Springs and Mystic, Connecticut.

There were good questions. Some thoughtful concerns. There were some things learned. And, as it seems there always is, some who just were there to throw sand in the gears. Several of them do not have a Harbor Springs address...

But then again, neither does "We Love Harbor Springs." For all the love for this town, none of their paperwork as an organization has a Harbor Springs address anywhere to be found.

When they give money to campaigns they use: 1000 Jackson Street in Toledo, Ohio. You can find that filing here>>>

Their Articles of Incorporation used an agent address at: 40600 Ann Arbor Rd. in Plymouth, Michigan. You can find that filing here>>>

And their Incorporator used an address at: 6890 Meadow Lake Rd., Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. You can find that filing here>>>

Why? Well, it is another arrow pointing to the fact that this really isn't about building heights, or character, or the nuts and bolts of the zoning code.

What it is all really about who gets to decide the important issues that effect our town --- Neighbors who are residents of Harbor Springs...or a few members group who loves our town so much, they are incorporated 264 miles away.
